biography
Alexey Kim (b. 1987) is a New York City–based independent visual artist, writer, photo/video journalist, and documentarian. He was born in Kazakhstan, formerly part of the USSR, and moved to the US in his late teens. Alexey started his career as a photo contributor to Gayletter magazine in June 2018 covering events and photographing editorials. In June 2019 Alexey co-founded an independent media platform sidewalkkilla.com, which is focused on LGBTQIA+ issues and emerging creatives. Alexey is currently exploring medium format film portraiture and continues to document nightlife and event spaces.
